On February 28, 2025 as part of the “100 Classrooms for 100 Years” project announced to mark the 100th anniversary of the National University, a French Language classroom was opened at the Institute of Foreign Languages.
The opening ceremony of the classroom, funded by graduates of the French Department, was attended by the Ambassador of France to Kyrgyzstan Nicolas Faye, Vice-Rector for Scientific Affairs of the National University of Kyrgyzstan Mirlan Dyldaev, Director of the Institute of Foreign Languages Kenjebay Umetov, and Director of the French Alliance in Bishkek Guzel Ishenova.
During the event, the parties exchanged views on further expanding of Kyrgyz-French educational and cultural cooperation and discussed the possibilities of implementing joint projects in the field of language teaching. The French language classroom provides favorable conditions for students to study.
The opening ceremony of the classroom was attended by: The French Embassy Attaché Etienne Lanselot, the Deputy Head of the International Relations Department of the University of Paris Panthéon-Sorbonne Antoine Devoucoux du Buisson, and the lecturer of the university Xavier Nera, as well as the Dean of the Kyrgyz-European Faculty Anara Kamalova, the Dean of the Faculty of International Relations and Oriental Studies Nurgul Kazak kyzy and Professors Maria Akchekeeva and Yrysbubu Beibutova.
