On October 4, 2024 the VI Congress of the Association of Asian Universities (AAU) was held in Belokurikha (Altai, Russia) as part of the International Educational Forum “Altai-Asia — 2024: Eurasian Educational Space — New Challenges and Best Practices”.
The event, organized by Altai State University, was attended by representatives of more than 60 universities from different Asian countries, including Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Mongolia and Russia. The delegations discussed key challenges and prospects for the development of higher education in the context of global changes, such as digitalization of educational processes, international academic mobility of students and faculty, as well as training of personnel for high-tech industries.
The official opening of the Congress began with welcoming remarks by honored guests. Rector of KNU Dogdurbek Chontoev delivered an online speech in which he expressed deep gratitude to the organizers of the event and emphasized the importance of strengthening inter-university cooperation in the context of new global challenges. He noted that joining efforts in the educational sphere is the key to the formation of a sustainable and innovative Eurasian educational space.
In his speech, the Rector of KNU emphasized the need to exchange experience between the participating countries, the introduction of advanced educational technologies, the development of network programs and bilateral scientific projects. Dogdurbek Chontoev noted that AAU plays an important role in supporting inter-university cooperation and emphasized that strengthening ties between universities can help improve the quality of education and its accessibility for young professionals in the region.
One of the central topics of the congress was the need to adapt higher education to new challenges, including the development of digital platforms for distance learning, the integration of artificial intelligence into educational processes and advanced training of teachers in the context of growing technological complexity.
The Altai-Asia 2024 Forum continues its work, providing participants with a unique opportunity to exchange knowledge, developments and best practices in the field of higher education, as well as discuss prospects for further cooperation in a rapidly changing world.
It should be noted that during the Congress, the Rector of KNU Dogdurbek Chontoev was elected as the vice-president of the Association of Asian Universities, representing Kyrgyzstan.
