On October 11, 2024 the Rector of KNU Dogdurbek Chontoev received a delegation from Shanghai University of Political Science and Law (SUPSL) headed by its Vice President Mr. Luo Ligang.
In his welcoming speech, Dogdurbek Chontoev noted that as the head of KNU, he is aware of the cooperation of the National University with the Association of Law Schools of the SCO countries. He believes that the SCO ALS helps to provide a platform for multilateral and bilateral cooperation between member universities in such areas as legal education and research, promoting practical cooperation between universities in the areas of creating academic subjects and disciplines, academic exchanges, personnel training, as well as strengthening legal guarantees for economic and trade cooperation between the SCO member states and contributing to the implementation of the principle of the rule of law of the “one belt and one road” countries. In conclusion, the Rector of KNU expressed confidence in further mutually beneficial and fruitful cooperation.
Vice President of the SCO Law Schools and Lawyers Association Mr. Luo Ligang thanked Dogdurbek Chontoev for the warm welcome and personal greeting to the members of the Chinese delegation, and briefly spoke about the first Forum of the SCO Law Schools Association, which took place on September 11-15, 2023, and reminded that Baitik Buzurmankulov, who is present here, also took part in this event. In his opinion, the SCO Law Schools Association will strengthen cooperation between partner universities in the field of education in training innovative, applied and international legal personnel for each state and the SCO region. Further, he said that the 2nd SCO Law Schools and Lawyers Association Forum will be held soon, where 2 students and 1 professor are invited. “We want quality, not quantity. Our close cooperation will benefit both states. I hope that we will achieve great success with our joint efforts,” concluded Mr. Luo Ligang.
The meeting was also attended by: Dean of the Faculty of Continuing Education of the School of Law and Judicial Affairs Zhang Jun, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Language and Culture Chang Linyi, Deputy Director of the China National Institute of International Exchanges and Judicial Cooperation of the SCO countries Zhang Shaoying, Scientific Secretary of the same university Zhang Jingxin, as well as Director of the DICR Bakyt Keldibekov, Director of the Law Institute Kynatbek Smanaliev, Director of the Kyrgyz-Chinese Institute Sofya Apaeva, Co-Director of the Confucius Institute Chen Zhigu and the Head of the Department of Criminal Procedure and Forensic Examination, Coordinator of the Association of Law Schools of the SCO Countries Baitik Buzurmankulov.
