On November 24, 2025 the opening ceremony of the International Student Film Festival “Peace to the World!” was held at the National University. The festival is dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Great Patriotic War. Students from Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Mongolia are participating.
The goal of the festival is to strengthen cooperation in the film industry, exchange experiences, and commemorate the Great Victory.
One of the festival’s honored guests was renowned Russian theater and actor Igor Petrenko, who will serve on the jury. As part of the program, he will conduct a master class for students.
Also present at the event were Aleksandr Izmailov, Assistant to State Duma Deputy, and Yevgeny Isayev, Producer of Zvezda TV Company.
The event was opened by Shirin Kostyuk, Director of the Institute of Journalism and Communications at KNU, one of the festival organizers. She wished all guests success and expressed hope that the films screened in the coming days would become shining stars.
The festival will run until November 26, and screenings will be held at the Rossiya Cinema. Participants will present their short films, documentaries, and animations.
