On November 18, 2025 the Higher School of Economics hosted a guest lecture by William Glenn Rowe, a globally recognized expert in strategic management and Professor Emeritus at Ivey Business School (Canada). The lecture was titled “Teaching Business Case Studies in the Classroom.”

Participants in the guest lecture included faculty from the Higher School of Economics, the Kyrgyz-European Faculty, and the Institute of Management and Business.

The lecture served as a catalyst for the implementation of innovative approaches in teaching. Professor Rowe not only presented best international practices but also demonstrated how the case study method immerses students in real-life management situations.

The lecture participants gained key tools for developing critical thinking, enhancing decision-making skills, and fostering strategic vision.

For faculty, researchers, and students, this was a unique and fulfilling opportunity to gain firsthand knowledge of the best international practices in strategic management and modern educational technologies.

At the end of the session, Professor W. Glenn Rowe presented certificates to all participants. The event confirmed the status of Higher School of Economics as a platform for the exchange of cutting-edge knowledge.

Professor W. Glenn Rowe is not only an outstanding academician but also a practitioner with impressive experience. He served in the Canadian Navy for over 22 years and is the lead co-author of the textbook Cases in Leadership. Each year, at the Ivey School of Business, where he teaches strategic management and leadership, the professor conducts up to 80 classes using the case method.
