On November 3, 2025 Professor Dogdurbek Chontoev, Rector of Kyrgyz National University named after Jusup Balasagyn, received a delegation from the Gansu Province Academy of Sciences of the People’s Republic of China.
During the meeting, the importance of Kyrgyz-Chinese relations, new areas of scientific research, and the further development of cultural partnership were emphasized.
Rector Dogdurbek Chontoev noted that it is particularly valuable that a major academy in Gansu Province is interested in collaborating with KNU in the fields of social sciences and humanities.
At the same time, the Kyrgyz-Chinese Research Institute of KNU and the Gansu Provincial Academy of Social Sciences are jointly preparing a project to write a book titled “Friendly and Cooperative Relations between Kyrgyzstan and China: Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow.” A bilateral memorandum was signed to implement these initiatives.
According to Liu Yushun, Director of the Gansu Academy of Social Sciences, the book will be published as part of the “One Belt, One Road” initiative. It contains information about cooperation between the two sides, as well as the country’s history and culture.
