On October 25, 2025 the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic – Head of the Presidential Administration Adylbek Kasymaliev attended a solemn event dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Kyrgyz National University named after Jusup Balasagyn. The Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Adylbek Kasymaliev got acquainted with the exhibition organized for the 100th anniversary of the university, after which a film and a theatrical prologue dedicated to the anniversary were shown.

In his speech, Adylbek Kasymaliev, on behalf of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov and the Cabinet of Ministers, congratulated the faculty, students and graduates of the university on the anniversary date, emphasizing the historical significance of the university.

“The university has become the cradle of the Kyrgyz intelligentsia. Most of the elite of the Kyrgyz people and prominent historical figures received their education here. Among them are five Heroes of the Kyrgyz Republic, two Heroes of Labor, eleven academicians, more than forty People’s Poets and Writers, sixteen People’s Teachers, 1 Olympiad champion and many other personalities. The founder of Kyrgyz literature Kasym Tynystanov worked at the university, the immortal star of Kyrgyz poetry Alykul Osmonov, and the First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Kyrgyzstan Turdakun Usubaliev studied here. This university is a source of knowledge, inspiration and spiritual revival of our people,” he said.

The Head of the Cabinet of Ministers emphasized that the Kyrgyz National University laid the foundation for all subsequent higher educational institutions, research institutes and the National Academy of Sciences of the country, became the first impetus for the development of education and science, and gave a start to the intellectual growth of Kyrgyzstan.

“The Kyrgyz National University is a flagship that has a special place in the history of science and education of our country, in the development of its intellectual potential, and it maintains this high status to this day. In the QS World University Rankings, the university ranks 1,234th out of 24,000 universities in 106 countries. It ranks 381st in the QS Asia ranking, and 25th in the QS Central Asian ranking. These positions are one of the important achievements of the higher education system of Kyrgyzstan. However, we cannot stop there,” said Adylbek Kasymaliev, noting the important role of the university in training professional personnel for the Republic.

The Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, on behalf of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov, emphasized that for its great contribution to the development of the education and science system of the Kyrgyz Republic, as well as for training qualified specialists for various sectors of the country, a Decree was signed on awarding the Kyrgyz National University named after Jusup Balasagyn with the Order of Manas of the III degree. On behalf of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, he presented this high state award to the Rector of the university, Dogdurbek Chontoev. Then a ceremony of awarding was held.
