On July 11, 2025 an official meeting with the delegation of the Korea World Association for Professional Exchange was held at the Kyrgyz National University named after Jusup Balasagyn, during which a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed and promising areas of cooperation were discussed.
The following representatives took part in the meeting on behalf of the KNU:
- Dogdurbek Toktosartovich Chontoyev – Rector of Kyrgyz National University named after Jusup Balasagyn;
- Gulbara Bekturganovna Sydykova – Vice-Rector for Investments;
- Baktybek Torobekovich Keldibekov – Director of the Department of International Cooperation and Relations;
- Kanybek Osmonalievich Osmonaliev – Professor of the Department of Physics;
- Samat Almazbekovich Toktogonov – Dean of the Faculty of Physics and Electronics.
The delegation of the Korean Association was headed by Chairman Jeong-wook Seo. The delegation also included:
- Hyeo-Jin Kim – Executive Director and Secretary General;
- Duk-Gwan Moon – Director of the Support Division;
- Jae-Sung Yoo – Director of the Logistics Department;
- Joo-Il Lee – Head of the Healthcare Department;
- Badamragchaa Ankhbayar – Project Manager in Central Asia.
The main topic of the meeting was the discussion of the project to open a Department of Semiconductors at the Faculty of Physics and Electronics at KNU. The participants expressed interest in creating a joint educational and research platform aimed at training highly qualified personnel in the field of semiconductor technologies.
During the event, the parties signed a Memorandum of Understanding and agreed on steps to implement the planned initiatives, including the arrival of Korean specialists to install equipment and conduct training.
The meeting was held in a warm and constructive atmosphere, confirming the desire of both parties to strengthen and develop bilateral cooperation in the field of science and education.
