On July 9, 2025 Rector of the Kyrgyz National University named after Jusup Balasagyn (KNU), Professor Dogdurbek Chontoev held a meeting with the new Director of the Confucius Institute (CI) from the Chinese side, Ms. Jia Jingfang. She was introduced by the Director of the CI from the Kyrgyz side, Zhyldyz Usenbaeva.
In a warm and constructive atmosphere, Dogdurbek Chontoev welcomed the new head of the CI, expressing confidence in further strengthening the partnership between the Kyrgyz National University named after Jusup Balasagyn and Xinjiang Normal University, SPU, and wished Ms. Jia Jingfang success in implementing the educational and cultural initiatives of the Confucius Institute.
Then, the new Director of the CI was also received by the First Vice-Rector and Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Aalaibek Shamshiev. During the conversation, he emphasized the importance of the Confucius Institute’s activities in the context of developing academic and cultural exchange between the Kyrgyz Republic and the People’s Republic of China. The Vice-Rector outlined the priority areas of the Institute’s future work and wished Ms. Jia Jingfang productive and successful work in her new position. KNU leaders also thanked the previous Director of the Confucius Institute from the Chinese side, Mr. Chen Zhiguo, for his fruitful work.
