On May 29, 2025 an online meeting was held between the Rector of the Kyrgyz National University named after Jusup Balasagyn, Professor Dogdurbek Chontoev, and the President of Keimyung University (Republic of Korea), Mr. Shin Ilhee. During the meeting, the prospects for expanding academic cooperation between the two universities, especially in the field of artificial intelligence and educational programs, were discussed.
The meeting was also attended by Vice President for International Affairs Ms. Kim Sung-jeong, Head of the Asian Region Department Ms. Park Sung-jin, and LUPIC Project Director Mr. Joo Hong-Taek.
Professor Dogdurbek Chontoev expressed gratitude to Keimyung University for technical and financial support, emphasizing that:
Since 2017, within the framework of the Memorandum of Cooperation, KNU has been closely working with Keimyung University. Our students regularly go to study in Korea, and teachers exchange experiences. This is a significant contribution to the development of education.
Mr. Shin Ilhi noted that this year two KNU students will study in South Korea at the expense of the host country.

From the 2025-2026 academic year, training in the basics of artificial intelligence will be introduced in all educational departments of the Kyrgyz National University. This initiative is being implemented within the framework of cooperation between KNU and Keimyung University (South Korea) and is aimed at strengthening the scientific and educational potential of the university, as well as training specialists in demand in the context of digital transformation.
