On May 26, 2025 a meeting was held at the Kyrgyz National University named after Jusup Balasagyn between Vice-Rector for Investments Gulbara Sydykova and representatives of five companies from Japan.
The purpose of the visit was to establish long-term cooperation within the framework of programs for the admission of students and young professionals from Kyrgyzstan for internships and work in Japan. In particular, the possibility of sending KNU students for internships in Japanese companies with the prospect of further participation in the program for attracting foreign specialists with special qualifications was discussed. Particular attention was paid to training personnel in the field of tourism and cooking.
One of the key organizations represented at the meeting was IM Japan, the largest organization in Japan engaged in the admission of foreign workers. The representatives noted that during the previous visit to Kyrgyzstan, plans were announced to bring representatives of Japanese companies to Kyrgyzstan next time, and the current visit was a logical continuation of these agreements.
The issue of attracting KNU students to the construction industry of Japan was also raised during the meeting. The possibility of employment of Kyrgyz graduates in technical, engineering and humanitarian fields in accordance with the Japanese visa category “Technical, engineering and humanitarian specialties” (gijinkoku) was discussed. KNU named after J. Balasagyn expresses hope for fruitful development of cooperation and opening of new opportunities for Kyrgyz youth in the international arena.
