On May 12-13, 2025, the China-Central Asia Conference on Cooperation in Production, Education, Scientific Research and their Practical Application was held in Urumqi.

The Conference was attended by the First Vice-Rector – Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs of the Jusup Balasagyn KNU Alaibek Shamshiev and the Director of the Confucius Institute on the Kyrgyz side Zhyldyz Usenbaeva.

The event was attended by the Ministers of Education of the People’s Republic of China, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Tajikistan, as well as rectors and vice-rectors of leading universities of the CIS countries and China. The participants discussed the prospects for expanding international cooperation in various areas of educational and scientific activities.

Within the framework of the Conference, cooperation agreements were signed between the Jusup Balasagyn Kyrgyz National University and Xinjiang Normal University, Kashgar University, as well as a multilateral agreement between five universities: Kyrgyz National University named after Jusup Balasagyn, Hong Kong Education University, Xinjiang Normal University, Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University, Navoi State University and Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda University.

On May 13, Zh. Usenbaeva made a report on the development of Kyrgyz-Chinese educational cooperation at Xinjiang Normal University. Holding this Conference was an important step towards expanding international academic cooperation and opened new horizons for interaction for the Kyrgyz National University.
