On May 13, 2025, the final stage of the global competition “Chinese Language Bridge” in Kyrgyzstan was held at the Kyrgyz National University named after Jusup Balasagyn. The event was organized by the Confucius Institute of the Kyrgyz National University with the support of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Kyrgyzstan.
Young participants from all over Kyrgyzstan took part in the competition, demonstrating their level of Chinese language proficiency and interest in Chinese culture. The event consisted of three parts: self-introduction in Chinese, a Chinese language test, and a demonstration of creative talent.
The participant who won the grand prize received a ticket to the global final in China. Also, in this year’s competition, two participants were awarded the title of “Most Popular Participant on the Internet” by voting via Instagram.
Mr. Sun Dapeng, Counselor of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Kyrgyzstan, and Dogdurbek Toktosartovich Chontoev, Rector of the Kyrgyz National University, attended the ceremony as distinguished guests.
The jury consisted of the following experts:
Mr. Li Guo Xuan – Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Kyrgyzstan
Mr. Cheng Bo Wen – Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Kyrgyzstan
Ms. Liu Ying – Editor-in-Chief of the «Silk Road» magazine in Kyrgyzstan
Mr. Zhao Zhongqi – Editor-in-Chief of Wenhui Bao in Jilin
Zhang Haiqing – Director of the Chinese Cultural Center in Bishkek.
As a result, participants from the Confucius Institute of the Kyrgyz National University took third place. This competition was a great opportunity for Kyrgyz children interested in the Chinese language and culture and was aimed at strengthening cultural ties between the two peoples.
