Unique, next-generation AI smart glasses were unveiled at Kyrgyz National University named after Jusup Balasagyn. Currently the only ones in the university and Kyrgyzstan, they are the only ones available. The official market launch of this technology is scheduled for May 2026, but Kyrgyz National University was given the opportunity to be among the first to experience this innovation thanks to the support of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.

The presentation of the glasses took place on January 28, 2026, during a briefing following the 4th Plenum of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the plenary session of the Kyrgyzstan-China Think Tank Dialogue on “Joint Development and Modernization”.

The smart glasses were donated to the university by the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and are housed in the new Book House of Works of Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee, opened at Kyrgyz National University. This innovative space is accessible to students, faculty, and researchers.

The glasses are equipped with artificial intelligence technologies and allow:

  • to recognize text and objects in real time;
  • to translate into foreign languages;
  • to work with scientific and educational materials;
  • to obtain reference information directly in the field of view;
  • to use digital cues during study and research.

The use of this technology opens new opportunities for KNU students, especially in the study of foreign languages, international relations, medicine, analytics, and modern digital approaches to learning.

The presentation of unique AI glasses underscores the high level of trust and strategic partnership between the Kyrgyz Republic and the People’s Republic of China, as well as the parties’ commitment to introducing advanced technologies into the educational and scientific environment.
