On August 11, 2025 a delegation from the Xi’an Women Lawyers Association (PRC) visited the Kyrgyz-Chinese Research Institute of the Kyrgyz National University named after Jusup Balasagyn.
The delegation members were met by Myrzabek Kamchybek uulu, Vice-Rector for Research at KNU. The meeting was also attended by the Director of the KCRI Sofya Apaeva and the Institute’s staff.
The parties discussed prospects for cooperation in science and education, including the development of integrated “language + specialty” programs. Particular attention was paid to the “Sinology” direction of the “International Law” profile, which is being implemented at the KCRI.
The Chairperson of the Xi’an Women Lawyers Association, Ms. Li Dan, noted the high interest in such educational programs. She invited representatives of Kyrgyzstan, including KNU teachers, to participate in the activities of the association.
One of the areas of joint work will be the translation of legal acts of the Kyrgyz Republic into Chinese and vice versa, in order to bring the legal systems closer to each other. This will allow Kyrgyz entrepreneurs working in China and Chinese companies operating in Kyrgyzstan to better understand the legislation of both countries and avoid misunderstandings.
Agreements have been reached on the exchange of students and teachers, cooperation with leading Chinese universities in the field of jurisprudence, as well as on holding short-term courses, master’s programs and lectures for specialists from both countries.
