On April 28, 2025 an online meeting was held between the Rector of KNU, Professor Dogdurbek Chontoev and the Chairman of the Korea World Association for Competences Exchange (KWACE) Seo Jeong-Wook, during which the parties discussed the opening of a department of semiconductors at the Faculty of Physics and Electronics. The event was also attended by: KWACE manager in Central Asia Daniel Kim, FIESTA Director Kanat Chinbotoev, as well as Vice-rector for research Myrzabek Kamchybek uulu, Vice-rector of KNU for investments Gulbara Sydykova, Dean of the Faculty of physics and electronics Samat Toktogonov, Head of the department of technical physics Gulmira Beishekeyeva and Professor of the faculty of physics and electronics Kanybek Osmonaliev.
