On August 25, 2026 a meeting was held at the Ministry of Science, Higher Education, and Innovation with Professor Josef Strobl, President of the Eurasia-Pacific UNINET (EPU) Academic Network, as part of his visit to the Kyrgyz Republic.
Participating in the meeting were Lira Sulaimanova, Deputy Minister of Science, Higher Education, and Innovation; Gulnara Botokanova, Vice President of the National Academy of Sciences; as well as heads and representatives of higher education institutions that are partners in the Eurasia-Pacific UNINET network.
Myrzabek Kamchybek uulu, Vice-Rector for Scientific Work, represented Kyrgyz National University named after Jusup Balasagyn at the event. During the meeting, he participated in a discussion on the prospects for developing international scientific and educational cooperation between KNU and Austrian universities within the EPU network.
Particular attention was paid to opportunities for developing direct interuniversity connections, academic exchanges, joint research and projects, and the participation of faculty, researchers, and students in Eurasia-Pacific UNINET programs and competitions.
KNU’s participation in this meeting contributes to the expansion of the university’s international scientific ties and the identification of new opportunities for joint educational and research initiatives with Austrian universities.
