On June 10, 2026 a delegation from Qingdao University (China), led by its Vice-Rector, Mr. Liu Enxian, visited Kyrgyz National University named after Jusup Balasagyn. They arrived to participate in the Forum of the Association of Law Schools of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.

During a meeting with Nazarkul Ishekeyev, Vice-Rector for State Language and Language Policy, the parties discussed establishing partnerships between the two universities and further cooperation in education and research.

The Vice-Rector of Qingdao University noted that the visit of the Qingdao University delegation is an important step toward strengthening friendly and academic ties between the universities and will open new horizons for mutually beneficial cooperation in education, research, and academic exchanges.

The Vice-Rector of Qingdao University thanked the delegation for the warm welcome, briefly informed them about his university, and outlined the main areas of cooperation.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Nazarkul Ishekeyev and Mr. Liu Enxian signed a Memorandum of Understanding between Kyrgyz National University named after J. Balasagyn and Qingdao University.

The meeting was also attended by Cai Yingwen, Dean of the Faculty of Law at Qingdao University; Sun Haixin, Dean of the Faculty of Life Sciences; and Liu Fangfang, an employee of the Office of International Cooperation and Exchanges; Baktybek Keldibekov, Director of the Department of International Cooperation and Relations; and Sofya Apaeva, Director of the Kyrgyz-Chinese Research Institute.
