On May 20–21, 2026, the Institute of Social and Humanitarian Sciences of Kyrgyz National University named after Jusup Balasagyn hosted the II International Scientific and Practical Conference “Sovereignty, Security, Stability” under the theme: “An Uncertain Future, an Anxious Present: Challenges for Society and Science.” The conference was conducted in a hybrid format and brought together scholars, researchers, and academic representatives from Kyrgyzstan, Poland, Kazakhstan, Latvia, India, and other countries.

The conference was organized by the Educational, Scientific and Industrial Complex “International University of Kyrgyzstan” in cooperation with University of Siedlce and a number of international universities and research institutions, including Kyrgyz National University named after Jusup Balasagyn.

The plenary session opened with a welcoming address by Aida Kachkynova, Candidate of Philosophical Sciences, Associate Professor, and Director of the Institute of Social and Humanitarian Sciences at KNU named after Jusup Balasagyn. In her speech, she emphasized the growing importance of international academic cooperation, scholarly dialogue, and intercultural engagement in the context of global uncertainty and contemporary geopolitical challenges.

The conference agenda focused on a wide range of актуальных scientific and social issues, including social stability, digital transformation of science, international security, intercultural communication, philosophy, gender studies, and emerging societal challenges. Faculty members, researchers, doctoral candidates, and young scholars of KNU named after Jusup Balasagyn actively contributed to the discussions and academic exchange.

The section representing Kyrgyz National University named after Jusup Balasagyn was moderated by Asel Shaiyldaeva, Candidate of Sociological Sciences and Associate Professor of the Department of Sociology and Social Work. Presentations delivered within the section addressed issues related to intercultural dialogue, identity transformation, philosophical dimensions of global challenges, cognitive sovereignty, and gender transformations in contemporary society.

Among the participants representing KNU named after Jusup Balasagyn were A.T. Kachkynova, N.O. Kasymova, B.A. Maltabarov, A.K. Shaiyldaeva, B.M. Koshbakova, A.Sh. Zholdosheva, E.Dzh. Apsamatova, N.K. Aalieva, S.M. Abdrasulov, G.T. Chotbaeva, E.B. Kadyrova, N.T. Urumkulova, N.B. Tokoeva, Lu Xiaoran, Pan Yaping, Oyan Fanfan, as well as other faculty members, doctoral students, and young researchers of the university.

The conference served as an important international academic platform for the exchange of scientific ideas, discussion of pressing contemporary issues, and strengthening of academic cooperation among universities and research communities of Kyrgyzstan, Poland, Kazakhstan, and Latvia.
