On January 30, 2026 a ceremony was held to award international certificates to graduates of the first educational course on artificial intelligence for young people in Kyrgyzstan. The course was implemented as part of the LUPIC educational project with the support of Keimyung University (Republic of Korea). The project aims to develop IT competencies among schoolchildren and young people and is funded by the Korean side.
In the first cohort, 36 participants – students from Schools No. 2, 31, and 69 – successfully completed the course. They began studying information technology from scratch, mastered basic digital skills, and gained practical knowledge in the field of IT.
Representatives of Keimyung University, Aida Ismailova, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Republic of Korea took part in the ceremony online. Offline participants were Rector of KNU, Professor Dogdurbek Chontoev; Head of the Pervomaisky District Education Department of the Bishkek City Mayor’s Office, Mirbek Asanov (online), and Director of Educational Complex No. 69 named after T. Satylganov, Sairagul Ataeva, who shared their thoughts on the project’s significance, its contribution to human capital development, and the strengthening of international educational cooperation.
The parties expressed satisfaction with the results achieved and commended the joint work accomplished. It was emphasized that the LUPIC project demonstrates a successful example of long-term and sustainable international partnership in education and digital technologies.
At the end of the ceremony, Rector of KNU Dogdurbek Chontoev and Director of Educational Complex No. 69, Sairagul Ataeva, presented international certificates to the graduates of the first course on artificial intelligence.
Parallel to the completion of the first cohort, the second cohort of the LUPIC project was launched, with new groups of students interested in learning information technology and developing digital skills beginning their studies.
These international certificates will pave the way for students to pursue their future careers and provide a significant boost to their professional growth and self-determination.
