From October 20 to 22, 2024 a delegation of employees of KNU named after J. Balasagyn headed by the Rector Dogdurbek Chontoev, as well as the chief specialist of the vocational education department of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic, Abylkasymov T., visited Nanyang Vocational and Technical University of Jiaxing Province, China, as part of a working visit.
During the visit, the KNU delegation took part in a welcoming ceremony for the first foreign students from Kyrgyzstan majoring in “Cross-Border E-Commerce” with the participation of representatives of the Jiaxing Provincial Government.
During the official meeting with the leadership of Nanyang Vocational and Technical University of Jiaxing Province, the parties discussed issues of further cooperation, agreed on creating an educational and methodological department for e-commerce at KNU named after J. Balasagyn and further prospects for working on the “University 4.0” model.
As part of the visit, the delegation members also met with employers and visited one of the largest knitwear factories. Manufacturing factories and companies in Jiaxing Province account for 80% of knitwear exports worldwide. According to the “Cross-Border E-Commerce” training program, the largest companies in Jiaxing Province will be potential employers of our students upon completion of their studies.
I would like to note that in August this year, within the framework of a bilateral agreement between the J. Balasagyn KNU and Nanyang Vocational and Technical University of Jiaxing Province, the Silk Road Institute of International E-Commerce was established at the J. Balasagyn KNU.
During his speech at the event, the Rector of KNU Dogdurbek Chontoev said: “This important event highlights the deepening cooperation between the Kyrgyz Republic and the People’s Republic of China, and opens a new page in the development of electronic trade routes between our countries. Today, electronic commerce occupies one of the leading places in the global economy. The establishment of the Silk Road Institute of Cross-Border E-Commerce is an important step in training highly qualified specialists in the field of electronic commerce. This institute will become a platform for close cooperation, exchange of experience and knowledge between Kyrgyzstan and China.” The Rector also wished all participants and organizers success in their studies and further significant achievements in this dynamically developing area.
