On September 19, 2024 the Rector of KNU Dogdurbek Chontoev met with the delegation of the Court of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) headed by its chairman Aleksey Aleksandrovich Dronov. During the conversation in the meeting room of the rector’s office, the parties discussed issues of cooperation between the Court of the EAEU and KNU named after J. Balasagyn and signed a corresponding agreement.
The Chairman of the Court of the EAEU informed his interlocutor that the body headed by him is a judicial body created to ensure the uniform application of legal norms and resolve disputes between the member countries of the Union. The Court also considers complaints from economic entities and authorities regarding violations of the EAEU law. The Court of the EAEU includes the member countries of the union: Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Russia. The main location of the Court is Minsk, Republic of Belarus. The Court ensures compliance with legal norms and regulates relations between these states within the framework of economic cooperation.
The Rector thanked the Chairman of the EAEU Court for the information provided, warmly welcomed the members of the delegation within the walls of the National University and noted that their presence emphasizes the importance of interaction between educational institutions and judicial bodies within the EAEU. According to him, KNU is actively developing and implementing educational programs on international law; the university holds courses, seminars and lectures that cover key aspects of law enforcement and judicial practice within the EAEU. “We are also open to joint scientific research and conferences that will allow us to exchange experience and knowledge, as well as develop new approaches to solving current legal issues,” Dogdurbek Chontoev continued. “We are confident that internships and practices in the EAEU bodies will become an important stage in their preparation. Such programs will not only deepen their knowledge but will also allow them to gain unique experience in the international legal environment. We are ready to support joint publications and research projects that can make a significant contribution to the development of legal science and practice. In conclusion, I would like to emphasize that KNU is ready for active and fruitful cooperation with the EAEU Court. I am convinced that our cooperation will be an important contribution to the development of the legal system and education in our region.
Then, the Chairman of the EAEU Court Alexey Dronov and the Rector of KNU Dogdurbek Chontoev signed the Agreement on Cooperation between the Court of the Eurasian Economic Union and the Kyrgyz National University named after Jusup Balasagyn.
The document provides for the establishment and development of mutual ties aimed at the implementation of joint projects; training of professional personnel, advanced training of students and faculty staff.
The meeting was also attended by: judges of the EAEU Court Aizhamal Azhibraimova and Marat Kayipov, assistant to the Chairperson of the EAEU Court Anastasia Koroleva, as well as Director of the Department of International Cooperation and Relations Baktybek Keldibekov, Academic secretary of KNU Zhanyl Kerimkanova, Director of the Law Institute Kynatbek Smanaliev, Head of the Department of Theory and History of State and Law and International Law Bolot Toktobaev, Professor of the Department of Theory and History of State and Law and International Law Esengul Beishembiev, and Professor of the Department of Criminal Procedure and Forensic Examination Klara Isaeva.
