On April 14, 2026 Alaibek Shamshiev, First Vice-Rector and Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs at Kyrgyz National University named after Jusup Balasagyn, met with representatives of Hanbat National University (South Korea).
During the meeting, it was noted that cooperation between Kyrgyz National University and Hanbat University is steadily developing, and the parties expressed interest in further implementing mutually beneficial initiatives.
The First Vice-Rector emphasized that cooperation in education is an important factor bringing the two nations closer together, adding that student interest in the Korean language and culture is growing.
Furthermore, the meeting discussed opportunities for expanding academic mobility programs, intensifying faculty and student exchanges, and conducting joint research.
During the meeting, representatives of Hanbat University also met with students. They were provided with detailed information about the specifics of studying in South Korea, the educational programs, and the university.
