On September 17, 2024 the Rector of KNU Dogdurbek Chontoev received 28 graduates of the National University who are going to pursue their Master’s degree at the People’s Friendship University of Russia (RUDN).
Rector noted that RUDN is a well-known and prestigious educational institution, not only in the Soviet era, but also now, it is very difficult and to enter it, therefore, based on the interstate agreement, going there and studying there will bring a big plus to the future career of the graduates. “After leaving the territory of our country, each of you should present Kyrgyzstan only in a positive light,” continued Dogdurbek Chontoev. “If you say something negative about Kyrgyzstan or the National University, someone else will come and fix it. It is in our hands. Students from all over the world study at RUDN where you are going. There is a great confidence among them that you will get a decent education and live a decent life. Moscow is a large metropolis with 14-15 mln. population. You should bring the good things of that country and then help to raise Kyrgyzstan. This should be in your hearts. I wish you to study well and finish well. Good luck to you all!”
Saadat Shermatova, Head of Academic Mobility, Knowledge Export and Network Master’s Department, said that the National University has been a member of this consortium since 2009, and has been participating in many areas of the two-degree program, and this year, the “Digital Media Communication” course was opened for journalists. Noting that the selection process was made by both KNU and RUDN, the Master’s studies are carried out on a budgetary basis, the first year of study is financed by the Russian Federation, and the second year by the Kyrgyz Republic, and the previous Master’s students brought only “excellent” and “good” transcripts from RUDN, this time she said that she believes that the graduates will also follow in their footsteps.
Director of the Institute of Journalism and Communication, Shirin Kostyuk, and Deputy Director of the Institute of Law, Zulayka Sydykova, expressed their wishes and wished good luck to graduate students who are going to study at RUDN.
The meeting was also attended by Jenish Beksultanov, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs.
