On November 28, 2025 Vice-Rector for Research Myrzabek Kamchybek uulu met with representatives of the Azerbaijan State University of Economics (UNEC), led by Vice-Rector for Student Affairs Saadat Tagi gizi Gandilova. The main goal of the event was to discuss specific mechanisms and a roadmap for the full implementation of all types of academic and scientific cooperation between the universities.
The parties discussed in detail key areas of cooperation, including:
- Academic mobility: student and faculty exchange;
- Educational programs: development and launch of joint double-degree programs, primarily in Economics;
- Research partnerships: organizing joint international scientific and practical conferences, publishing articles in peer-reviewed journals, and submitting grant applications.
“We value our strategic partnership with UNEC. This meeting allowed us to move from general agreements to concrete steps that will open up new opportunities for our students and faculty to gain advanced international experience,” noted Myrzabek Kamchybek uulu.
UNEC representatives expressed their readiness to promptly begin implementing the agreed-upon plans, emphasizing the mutual benefits of combining the educational and scientific potential of two leading economic universities in the region. Cooperation between KNU and UNEC is an important step in strengthening interuniversity ties between Kyrgyzstan and Azerbaijan, aimed at improving the quality of higher education and integrating them into the international academic community.
Also participating in the negotiations were: Avaz Akber oglu Alekberov – Head of the Finance and Audit Department at UNEC; Akhmed oglu Gadzhiev – Dean of the Faculty of Finance and Accounting; Saadat Shermatova – Head of the Department of Academic Mobility, Export of Knowledge and Networking; the leadership of the Higher School of Economics at KNU; and others.
