On June 22, 2026 Myrzabek Kamchybek uulu, Vice-Rector for Research at Kyrgyz National University named after Jusup Balasagyn, received Professor Huang Meixu, Head of the International Relations Department of the International Institute of Chinese Language and Culture at East China Normal University (Shanghai, China). The parties discussed the development of bilateral cooperation and signed a Memorandum of Cooperation aimed at further expanding academic and scientific ties between the universities.
The signed document provides for the implementation of joint educational programs, student and faculty exchanges, joint research, conferences, and cultural and educational events.
During the visit, Ms. Huang Meixu gave an open lecture for students, graduate students, faculty, and staff of the Kyrgyz-Chinese Research Institute. She discussed study opportunities at higher education institutions in the People’s Republic of China, academic mobility programs, admission requirements for international students, scholarship programs, and prospects for scientific and educational cooperation between universities in Kyrgyzstan and China.
Participants of the meeting expressed great interest in the materials presented and asked numerous questions about admission, study, and research at Chinese universities. Particular attention was paid to obtaining grants and scholarships, participating in academic exchange programs, and prospects for joint research.
The event was held in a warm and constructive atmosphere, contributing to the further development of educational, scientific, and cultural ties between Kyrgyzstan and China, as well as strengthening the strategic partnership between KNU named after J. Balasagyn and East China Normal University (Shanghai, China).
It should be noted that over the past four years, KCRI staff have maintained close ties with East China Normal University (Shanghai, China) and annually participated in international academic conferences organized by this university.
