On June 10, 2026 a roundtable discussion on “The Common Heritage of the Silk Road: From Ancient Traditions to the Digital Future” was held at Kyrgyz National University named after Jusup Balasagyn. It was dedicated to the International Day of Dialogue Among Civilizations, which has been celebrated since June 10, 2024.
Welcoming remarks were made by Professor Dogdurbek Chontoev, Rector of Kyrgyz National University named after Jusup Balasagyn, and Ms. Liu Jiangping, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to the Kyrgyz Republic.
Sinologists, journalists, art historians, and students participated in the discussion of the event, which was organized to strengthen intercultural dialogue, showcase the uniqueness and shared heritage of the civilizations of Kyrgyzstan and China, and counter stereotypes and xenophobia through art, science, and communication.
At the end of the round table, its participants planted a symbolic “Tree of Civilizations”.
