On February 17, 2026 a delegation from the University of Catania, Italy, visited Kyrgyz National University named after Jusup Balasagyn. The delegation was received by KNU Rector, Professor Dogdurbek Chontoev.
The parties discussed prospects for international cooperation, academic mobility for students and faculty, opportunities for joint educational and research projects, and details of the memorandum of cooperation between the two universities.
Following the official meeting, open lectures were held for university students.
- Professor Francesco Pati delivered a lecture to students of the International Institute of Medicine and Science and the Institute of Social Sciences and Humanities, presenting current research and international experience in his academic field.
- Professor Alexandra Ragusa delivered a lecture to students of the Institute of Mathematics and Informatics, sharing current scientific developments and approaches in the field of mathematics and information technology.
The visit of the University of Catania delegation was an important step in strengthening KNU’s international ties and expanding cooperation with European educational institutions. The university’s leadership expressed confidence that this meeting will serve as a foundation for further joint initiatives and academic exchange.
