On December 20, 2024 the “Turkish Heritage Center” was opened in office 144 in the main building. The ceremony related to the mentioned event was attended by representatives of the Turkology expert community and by other public representatives.
After cutting the red tape in front of the center, Dogdurbek Chontoev, the Rector of the National University, Kairat Osmonaliev, the Head of the newly opened Center, and other participants of the ceremony entered the office. Congratulation speeches were given by: Dogdurbek Chontoev, the Rector of the National University, Edil Marlis uulu, President of the International public association “Congress of Turkic Peoples”, Askar Aitmatov, President of the International Issyk-Kul Forum named after Ch. Aitmatov, etc. Dogdurbek Chontoev noted that the “Center of Turkish Heritage” is the first center opened in the Turkic world under the agreement between the Turkish Culture and Heritage Foundation and Jusup Balasagyn Kyrgyz National University. i.e. to serve as a hub for the preservation and promotion of Turkish heritage. The center houses a library, and digital archives devoted to Turkish history, languages, literature, folklore, music, and art. These resources are accessible to scholars, students, and the public, contributing to a deeper understanding and appreciation of Turkish cultural heritage. At the end of his speech, the Rector noted that the newly opened center will be supported by the management and conditions will be created for its further functioning.
