On September 29, 2025 Rector of Kyrgyz National University named after Jusup Balasagyn, Professor Dogdurbek Chontoev, received representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand and the Institute of Asian Studies of Chulalongkorn University. The meeting focused on establishing academic ties, exchanging experiences, and cooperation in the fields of regional studies, tourism, and climate change which will strengthen and bring closer relations between the two peoples.

Dogdurbek Chontoev noted that the Kyrgyz National University highly values ​​international relations and that such meetings make an important contribution to the development of cultural and humanitarian dialogue, saying, “We believe that personal contacts, open communication, and mutual interest in culture, education, and history will make our world harmonious.”

The event was attended by Mr. Kasemsan Thongsiri – Director of the Department of South and Central Asia, Mr. Sofranco Sutthisangiam – Advisor to the Director, Mr. Kitiphat Jamjiraruks –  Department Attaché, Mr. Thithirat Panbamrungki – Deputy Director for Research, Chulalongkorn University Asian Studies Institute, Mr. Jirayuth Sintuphan – Deputy Director for Academic Affairs, Ms. Warakorn Wimuttichai – Head of the Research and Academic Training Department, Mr. Myrzabek Kamchybek uulu – Vice-Rector for Research, KNU, Baktybek Keldibekov – Head of the Department of International Cooperation and Relations, Medina Nukeeva – Dean of the Kyrgyz-European Faculty, Esen Usubaliev – Dean of the Faculty of International Relations and Oriental Studies, and Dooron Kubatbek uulu – Head of the Rectorate.

It should be noted that the Asian Studies Institute of Chulalongkorn University aims to disseminate information about the countries of Central Asia.
