On June 10, 2025 the opening ceremony of the Summer University for students and young scientists of the Commonwealth of Independent States was held at the Kyrgyz National University. The event was attended by students and teachers of the North-Eastern Federal University named after M.K. Ammosov (Republic of Sakha (Yakutia)), Kyzylorda University named after Korkyt-Ata (Republic of Kazakhstan), Samarkand State University named after Sh. Rashidov (Republic of Uzbekistan) and the National University of Uzbekistan named after Mirzo Ulugbek.
Rector of KNU, Professor Dogdurbek Chontoev warmly welcomed the participants of the meeting and noted that the Summer University is not only about new knowledge, but also live communication, exchange of cultural and scientific experience, a space for dialogue and inspiration for talented, active and future-oriented youth of the Commonwealth of Independent States. “We live in an era of rapid change, where the challenges of the global world require new approaches to education and science. In this context, academic mobility is becoming a key tool for the formation of competent, flexible and internationally oriented specialists. Mutual student and faculty exchanges, participation in joint programs and research projects today are not only important elements of the educational process, but also a guarantee of sustainable development and mutual understanding between our countries,” the Rector of KNU emphasized.
The Summer University will last from June 10 to 15. During the training, participants will take part not only in lectures, master classes, but will also visit museums and get acquainted with the cultural and natural heritage of the Issyk-Kul region.
The goal of the Summer University is to understand the historical results of the Great Patriotic War and their fundamental influence on the formation of a new world order, as well as deepening knowledge and developing discussions among students and young scientists of the CIS countries about the significance of the Victory and the lessons of history for the modern world.
