On April 23, 2025 the Rector of the Jusup Balasagyn Kyrgyz National University (KNU), Professor Dogdurbek Chontoev, received the Rector of Beijing Foreign Studies University (BFSU), Honorable Mr. Jia Wenjiang. During the meeting, the parties discussed issues of strengthening friendly relations between the two universities and expanding student exchanges within the framework of academic mobility.
In his speech, Professor Chontoev noted that it was a great honor for KNU to receive the delegation of Beijing University, and noted that seven students from Beijing Foreign Studies University had successfully studied at KNU for a year and showed interest in the Kyrgyz language and culture.
Also, Rector Chontoev recalled that the Kyrgyz Republic and the People’s Republic of China are strategic partners and neighboring countries, and noted that three Chinese language institutes are successfully operating at KNU. For information: Kyrgyz National University and Beijing Foreign Studies University have been cooperating since 2015. Beijing Foreign Studies University teaches 101 languages in the world and has been teaching the Kyrgyz language since 2016.
