On March 18, 2025 the Rector of KNU, Professor Dogdurbek Chontoev, received the Director of the German Service of Academic Exchanges (DAAD) in Central Asia, Ms. Gizela Zimmermann. During the meeting, the parties discussed various issues of cooperation between the two institutions in the field of education and scientific research, in particular, the study of water problems in Central Asia.
The Rector noted that he highly appreciates the role of DAAD in supporting international academic exchange and providing opportunities for students and scholars around the world. — We are open to discussing various forms of cooperation, including student and teacher exchange programs, joint scientific research and other initiatives aimed at strengthening ties between our countries, — continued Dogdurbek Chontoev. – Concerning the water problems in Central Asia, I know it is very difficult to find a single solution that would suit all the five countries of the region. Therefore, two- or three-party projects are needed. The head of KNU is ready for cooperation. After the meeting with the Rector, the Director DAAD visited the open lesson of the director of DICR Bakyt Keldibekov in German for first-year students of the faculty of foreign languages (gr. PPA-2-24). At the end of the lesson, Ms. Gisela Zimmermann said that the students showed an excellent level of command of the German language.
