On December 2, 2024 the opening ceremony of the “Turkish Language Center” was held at the Department of Turkology and Translation Studies of the Faculty of Kyrgyz Philology. During the event, a red ribbon was cut, official congratulations were given, a cultural program was presented, and there was an introduction to the offices of the newly opened center.
The opening ceremony was attended by the Rector of KNU, Dogdurbek Chontoev, Education Adviser to the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Kyrgyzstan, Kurshat Dulkadir, Coordinator of TİKA in Bishkek, Mehmet Bodur, Director of TTEÖMER, Ilyas Sut, Director of the Turkology Center of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University, teachers of Department of Turkology, Simultaneous Translation of the Kyrgyz-Turkish “Manas” University, Head of the Azerbaijani diaspora in Kyrgyzstan, KNU vice-rectors, faculty deans, institute directors and teaching staff, and students.
In his congratulatory speech, the Rector of KNU, Dogdurbek Chontoev, noted that the opening of the Turkish Language Center, which will be a mirror of brotherhood, friendship, and cooperation between the two peoples at the National University with a century-old history, is a great achievement. Kalkabay Sartbaev, Tazabek Samanchin, Karboz Dyikanov and Bubuyna Oruzbayeva worked in this faculty and worked in Central Asia. He mentioned that they have made a great contribution to the formation and development of Turkology.
Kurshat Dulkadir, the Educational Adviser of the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Kyrgyzstan, said that he believed that the newly opened center would become a large educational, scientific, and culturally active institution, and that it would become a center of research for young people who are interested in studying not only the two brotherly nations, but also the entire Turkic world.
The coordinator of TİKA in Bishkek, Mehmet Bodur, said that the capital is ready to contribute to learning the language, literature, culture, and history of the Kyrgyz and Turkic peoples, and is ready to support various activities in the field of Turkology.
The cultural program began with the congratulation of the famous poet, continued with the Turkish choir “Gülday Ber”, followed by drumming and dances accompanied by komuz.
At the end of the ceremony, together with the Rector, the guests visited the center’s classrooms.
