On October 2, 2024 the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Kyrgyz Republic, Sergei Petrovich Molunov, visited KNU. At the meeting with the Rector of KNU, Dogdurbek Chontoev, the parties discussed issues of cooperation between the National University and the Embassy of Belarus in Kyrgyzstan.
Having warmly welcomed the representatives of the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus, the Rector of KNU noted that the relations between Kyrgyzstan and the Republic of Belarus have always been based on mutual respect and cooperation, and today’s meeting will be an important step in strengthening these ties. Then, he briefly spoke about KNU and emphasized that the National University strives to expand international cooperation in the field of education, science and culture. “We sincerely believe that interaction with universities and scientific institutions of Belarus will open new prospects for our students, teachers and researchers. We are confident that the exchange of experience and knowledge with Belarusian universities will allow our students and teachers to get a new perspective on their professional fields and expand their horizons,” Dogdurbek Chontoev concluded.
Ambassador of the Republic of Belarus to the Kyrgyz Republic Sergey Molunov thanked Dogdurbek Chontoev for the warm welcome, congratulated him on his appointment as rector of KNU and expressed his readiness to cooperate with the Kyrgyz National University. “Before joining the MFA system, I worked in the education system, so I know that the future of the state depends on education. The Embassy guarantees to always be close to you. We are ready to support all your proposals and initiatives,” said the permanent diplomatic representative of the Republic of Belarus in Kyrgyzstan.
During the meeting, the issues of KNU participation in the upcoming meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission of the two countries were also discussed.
The meeting was also attended by: Advisor to the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in the Kyrgyz Republic Vitaly Semashko, as well as Vice-Rector for Research Mirlan Dyldaev and the Director of the Department of International Cooperation and Relations Bakyt Keldibekov.
Then, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Kyrgyz Republic Sergei Molunov held a meeting with students of the Institute of Journalism and Communications, Faculty of International Relations and Oriental Studies in the main building of the Big Conference Hall, where he spoke about himself, the Republic of Belarus and answered questions from the meeting participants.
