On September 9, 2025 the Kyrgyz National University named after Jusup Balasagyn (KNU) was visited by the Hungarian delegation headed by the Deputy State Secretary of the Office of the Prime Minister of Hungary Mr. Marton Ugrosdy. The members of the delegation were received by the Rector of KNU, Professor Dogdurbek Chontoev.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the issues of holding the Second Kyrgyz-Hungarian Rectors’ Forum.
The Rector expressed gratitude to the Hungarian delegation for the visit to Kyrgyz National University named after Jusup Balasagyn on the eve of the Kyrgyz-Hungarian Rectors’ Forum, which will be held on September 18-19 this year, and said that all organizational measures will be taken to hold the Forum at a high level. According to Dogdurbek Chontoev, Kyrgyz National University intends to initiate cooperation with the Budapest University of Economics and Business, the Metropolitan University, the University of Szeged and the Pannonian University in the field of advanced training, academic mobility, scientific research and joint conferences.
Speaking about the purpose of his visit to Kyrgyzstan, Deputy State Secretary of the Office of the Prime Minister of Hungary Mr. Marton Ugrosdy said: “The President of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Prime Minister of Hungary agreed to develop cooperation in the field of education. To implement this agreement, it is planned to hold a Kyrgyz-Hungarian Rectors’ Forum. In addition, scholarship programs will be created based on the Organization of Turkic States, and we invite Kyrgyz students to study under these programs.” In conclusion of his speech, Mr. Marton Ugrosdy expressed hope for active and successful cooperation between Kyrgyz and Hungarian universities.
Ambassador of Hungary to Kyrgyzstan Mr. Sandor Dorogi expressed hope that many issues of cooperation between universities of Kyrgyzstan and Hungary will be discussed and resolved during the Kyrgyz-Hungarian Forum, which will be held on September 18-19, 2025.
After the meeting with the Rector, members of the Hungarian delegation visited the halls where the events of the Kyrgyz-Hungarian Forum are planned to be held.
The meeting was also attended by: Mr. György Tár, Consul of Hungary in Kyrgyzstan, Mr. Zsolt Máris, Deputy Head of Mission, Ms. Beata Fáhl, Diplomat for Culture and Education, as well as Director of the Department of International Cooperation and Relations of KNU Bakyt Kedibekov, Dean of the Kyrgyz-European Faculty Medina Nukeeva and Head of the Rector’s Office Dooron Kubatbek uulu.
