On March 28-29, 2025 KNU delegation headed by the Rector, professor Dogdurbek Chontoev paid an official visit to Xinjiang Normal University and Xinjiang Institute of Physical and Chemical Technology of the Chinese Academy of Science.
As part of the visit to Xinjiang University, the 13th Council of the Confucius Institute Board was held with the participation of XNU Rector Ainivar Akmu, Deputy Party Committee Peng Wuqing and coordinators of the Confucius Institutes of Central Asia, where the results of the institute’s work for 2024 and the work plan for 2025 were reviewed. The parties confirmed support and strengthening of further cooperation between the universities. During the visit, the delegation members visited the new campus of XNU, the museum of the Faculty of Biology, the university library, and got acquainted with the work of the Institute of Information Technology. The delegation also visited the new technology district of Urumqi, where new buildings and the history of the city’s development were presented.
As part of the visit to the Xinjiang Institute of Physical and Chemical Technology of the Chinese Academy of Science, the KNU delegation met with the Deputy Director of the Institute, Mr. Li Yudong, and research fellows of the Academy. The parties signed a cooperation agreement and discussed prospects for cooperation in the field of digital technology development, the creation of a laboratory for multilingualism and artificial intelligence, academic mobility, and other issues. On behalf of the Xinjiang Institute of Physical and Chemical Technology of the Chinese Academy of Science, the directors of the institutes, Izat Usenov and Amantur Ryspaev, were awarded certificates as foreign research fellows with whom further work will be carried out.
The KNU delegation was presented with the main works and achievements of the Xinjiang Institute of Physical and Chemical Technology of the Chinese Academy of Science.
The events were also attended by co-directors of the Confucius Institute of KNU, Jyldyz Usenbaeva and Chen Zhiguo.
